An experience to remember

We start in Tetouan, with its enriching cultural heritage, walking through its picturesque alleys and bustling markets with local guides. In Meknes, we discover the grandeur of an imperial city and explore the historic ruins of Volubilis, an ancient Roman city. In Fez, another imperial city, we immerse ourselves in the rich Amazigh culture. On the way to Marrakech, we explore a picturesque fortified village. Then, in the amazing Sahara desert, we live unique experiences: we ride dromedaries, drive buggies and rest under a starry sky in the best Starlight accommodation in the world. We learn to cook couscous amazigh. We return to vibrant Marrakech. This journey amalgamates history, culture, desert adventure and traditional flavors, leaving an indelible imprint on our hearts. STEP BY STEP

Itinerary

Day 1. Tangier – Tetuan – Chefchaouen

Pick up at Tangier airport and start to Tetouan, a city whose medina is part of the select group of places designated as World Heritage by UNESCO. Here, we will immerse ourselves in the rich history and culture of the region while taking a panoramic tour. We will continue to Chefchaouen, known as the “blue city” where we will be surrounded by cobblestone streets painted in a captivating indigo and white blue. Strolling through its streets will take us to a magical and relaxing atmosphere. From one of the beautiful viewpoints of Chefchaouen, we will have the opportunity to capture in photographs the spectacular panorama of this charming city, located in a stunning natural environment. Day 2. Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez

We leave for the iconic city of Fez, the cultural epicenter of Morocco. However, our journey gives us exciting stops along the way. Our first stop takes us back in time, exploring the impressive ruins of Volubilis, an ancient Roman city, guided by our local host. We continue to Meknes, imperial city with a brief but revealing panoramic visit. We will arrive in Fez, with its old medina, its medieval architecture and cultural wealth, waiting to be explored. Day 3. Fez

We will tour the beautiful city of Fez, where we will discover madrasas, tanneries, souks, gardens, palaces and the Jewish quarter. After the visit, we will head to Boulajoul for dinner and overnight. Along the way, we will admire wonders such as the Moroccan Switzerland, Ifrane, the Azrou Cedar forest with Barbary macaques, the volcanic region of Azrou and the impressive rocky valley of the Ziz River with its extensive palm grove. This day promises a unique experience, full of fascinating landscapes and cultures that will enrich our trip. Overnight in Boulajoul.

Day 4. Fez – Merzouga Desert

We continue our journey to the desert of Merzouga. Arriving close to the dunes, dromedaries await us for an exciting tour of the sand and enjoy the breathtaking sunsets. The walk culminates in a camp of chaimas. There, we will have dinner, enjoy a Berber party and stay in fully equipped jaimas with private bathroom. It is a unique experience to immerse yourself in the magic of the desert, with a starry sky and Berber hospitality, which promises to be unforgettable. Overnight in Merzouga.

Day 5. Merzouga Desert – Ouzina Desert

Today an exciting buggy route awaits us through the large dunes of Erg Chabbi. Afterwards, we will learn how to make couscous from the hand of expert cooks. In the afternoon, we will follow the route along the old track of the Paris-Dakar Rally to the village of Ouzina. There, we will get to know the daily life of its inhabitants, sharing the communal oven and watching how they grow orchards in challenging places. Finally, we will head to the desert of Ouzina and stay at Riad Ouzina TGM, where we will enjoy dinner and breakfast. This riad has been recognized as the best Starlight accommodation in the world by the eponymous Foundation, promising a unique experience under the starry sky. Overnight in Ouzina.

Day 6. Ouzina Desert – Boumalne Dades

We will leave for the town of Ramlia, following the same route as the Dakar Rally. For about 3 hours, we will enjoy desert landscapes with dunes, nomads and dromedaries, until we reach Alnif and the Toldra Gorges near Tinerhir. These gorges are located in a valley of palm trees and adobe villages, surrounded by rugged and barren mountains, and are one of Morocco’s most famous natural sights, with walls about 300 meters high over a kilometer. Then, we will head to the Dades Gorges for dinner and stay in a riad located in this stunning area. Overnight in Dades Gorges.

Day 7. Boumalne Datas – Marrakech

We will continue along the Route of the Thousand Kashbas to Ouarzazate, famous for its film studios. From there, we will take the course of the Ounila River and visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, the valley of Ounila will take us to the Kashba Taoulet, another historical and beautiful place. We will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon and stay in the city. This day promises an immersion into the rich history and beauty of Morocco, from ancient Kasbahs to bustling Marrakech. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 8. Marrakech

Together with our local host, we will tour Marrakech, known as the “red city”. We will visit highlights such as the minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadies Tombs and the Bahia Palace. The rest of the day will be free, allowing us to enjoy the city at our own pace and explore its charms on our own. Marrakech offers a fascinating mix of history, culture and urban life, and this day provides the opportunity to immerse yourself in its vibrant atmosphere and discover its special corners.
