Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival

Arrival and check-in at the accommodation.

Day 2. History, art and gastronomic pleasure

Manuela, official local guide, will show you the beautiful city of Castelbuono. You will discover its history, you will tour the old town and you will visit the most important church of the fourteenth century of the place: Church of Maria S.S. Assunta – Matrice Vecchia, located in the busy Piazza Margherita. You will taste the amazing sweet pastas of Fiasconaro, the famous producer of panettone and traditional sweets of Castelbuono. You will enjoy a delicious menu of local products, composed of pasta and fresh vegetables. In the afternoon, you will enter the nooks of the spectacular Ventimiglia Castle and the historic Clock Tower.

Day 3. Privileged nature

Together with Leticia, the official nature guide, you will explore Madonie Park. You will cross a huge variety of habitats, such as mountain pastures rich in rare plants, karst sinkholes, beech forests and an ancient forest of giant holly trees (Piano Pomo). You will end with an incredible panoramic view of the Madonie mountains, Castelbuono and the Tyrrhenian coast.

Day 4. The Secrets of the Manna Plant

Mario, a local mana producer, will show you the history of this sap extracted from the bark of some Fresno plant species, its qualities, its production and you can even try it! Castelbuono is the only place in Sicily where you can live this experience, because thanks to the efforts of citizens passionate about mana, its production has been maintained here. Gabriel awaits you in his family restaurant to taste a full menu of traditional Sicilian dishes inherited from his ancestors, a meal that you will not forget. The Ypsigrock Festival begins!

Day 5. Kick off the Ypsigrock Festival!

Free tomorrow. Pepe and Francesca will receive you in their restaurant to taste a menu of dishes accompanied by mushrooms of the best quality and wine from the Etna volcano. Experience the Ypsigrock Festival!

Day 6. Pizza and gourmet music
