The region of the Axarquía, is one of the most characterful in the province of Malaga. For its mountainous area, it was a refuge from the Moors before the tremendous war conflict of the Fort of Frigiliana during the reign of Philip II, after which they would be displaced to the interior of the peninsula, before being expelled definitively. Its passage through the region marked the architecture of the place, white houses, cobbled streets, flowers on balconies and stone floors. Due to its proximity to the sea, on the land stand out the crops of vineyards, olive groves and a great variety of subtropical fruits such as avocado, mango, papayas or cherimoyas.
In this unique getaway to the Axarquía, you will approach the culture of local oil and wine and enjoy local cuisine in which elaborate stews, fresh soups of the land and desserts based on local honey stand out. Unique memorable moments await you among the mountains of Malaga.
Take this great trip back in time, listen to nature, taste the local cuisine and learn about the past and recent stories of one of the best places in Malaga.
