We will arrive in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on our own. Free time to explore the city and settle into the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Today we will explore the city of Las Palmas, visiting many of its neighborhoods. The first will be Vegueta, a neighborhood from the time of Christopher Columbus. Next, we will visit the Cathedral of Santa Ana and the Vegueta Market. Soon after we will head to the nearby Triana neighborhood, full of boutique shops, cafes. And historical architecture. Then, free time to enjoy the delicious local cuisine. Our final destination will be the Caldera de Bandama, a volcanic crater formed thousands of years ago. Today we will make a gastronomic route, first, we will visit a banana plantation, we will walk through the plantation, and then we can taste delicious fresh products from the area. Next, we will visit the Arehucas rum distillery, in Arucas. Here we will look at the rum making process. Then we will pass through Firgas, a picturesque village with spectacular views over the north of the island, we will take advantage to taste local dishes. The next stop will be the Agaete Valley, a paradisiacal place in which we will visit its famous coffee plantations. Our last stop will be a local winery that will allow us to taste its volcanic wines and artisan cheeses. At the end of the visits, return to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and stay at the hotel.
Today we will make a more natural visit, the first stop will be Fataga, known as the “Valley of a Thousand Palms”, we will walk through its narrow streets and enjoy the views it offers us. The next stop is Atunte, a historic place from when Gran Canaria was an important centre of commerce. Next, we will go to Roque Nublo, an emblematic volcanic monolith. The next destination is Cruz de Tejada, a crossing point that offers spectacular views. Our last stop will be in Teror, a town known for its colonial architecture and as a place of pilgrimage. At the end, return to the hotel and free time.
