Easter Island

Day 1. Arrival in Easter Island

• Upon our arrival at the airport, our private driver will pick us up to take us to the hotel. Overnight in Easter Island.

Day 2. Anakena & Rano Raraku

• After breakfast, we will meet our local host and the rest of the group for a fascinating archaeological journey where we will discover the mysteries of the island and its moais. We will start with Ahu Akahanga, an area of lying moais and legends that tell how the first king of the island was buried. We will continue the adventure visiting Rano Raraku, a sacred place where most of these stone giants were sculpted that unveil the enigmas that hide behind the transfer of these imposing moles to other points of the island. The next destination will be Ahu Tongariki, a wonderful place (postcard icon) that has 15 restored and standing moai in recent decades. This place is the perfect prelude to Te Pito Kura, a ceremonial centre that houses the largest moai of all built. We will crown our tour by visiting Hanga Rau or Te Ariki, better known as Anakena beach, with the best preserved moais of the whole island Ahu Nau Nau. We will enjoy a moment of rest, contemplating and sunbathing on its beautiful beach with palm trees, white sand and turquoise waters. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Easter Island.

Day 3. Ahu Akivi & Puna Pau & Tahai – Orongo & Vinapu & Rano Kau

• After breakfast, we will meet with our local host and the rest of the group to enjoy an adventure in the interior of the island. We will be amazed by the history of Rapa Nui in the quarry of Puna Pau, where the headdresses of the moais, better known as Pukao, were carved. We will continue to a special platform called Ahu Akivi or Ati’u, a restored sector that has seven moais of equal dimensions facing the sea, which align at sunset during the spring equinox and turn their backs to dawn during the autumn equinox. We will conclude the tour in the ceremonial centre Tahai, place that concentrates diverse archaeological and other contemporary components. Here we can see three restored platforms: Ahu Tahai, Ahu Vai Uri and Ahu Ko Te Riku. In the afternoon, we will climb the extinct volcano Rano Kau, where we are presented with a view of the entire island with its coasts and volcanoes and the town of Hanga Roa. The second viewpoint that we will visit will let us appreciate the crater of the Rano Kau with its lagoon and then we arrive at the Orongo ceremonial village, where the ceremony and competition of the Bird Man ‘Tangata Manu’ was held. Then we visit the Ahu Vinapu with its architecture that reminds us of the constructions of the pre-Inca villages. We will end up visiting the cove of Hanga Piko, where we can see the Ahu Riata, which was restored in 2000 next to the fishing port. If we are lucky we can observe different fish and perhaps turtles. ***This tour does not include the visit to the Ana Kai Tangata cave for security reasons. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Easter Island.

Day 4. Easter Island – Santiago

• Breakfast at the hotel. At the stipulated time, our private driver will pick us up to take us to the airport and take the flight to Santiago. Upon our arrival, another private driver will take us to the hotel. Overnight in Santiago.

Day 5. Back home

• Breakfast at the hotel. At the set time, our private driver will pick us up to take us to Santiago Airport.
