Iron shaped the landscape, life and character of the Basque Country for centuries. Touring the Greenway of the Montes de Hierro is an opportunity to know the roots of this territory, and the history behind the train that was the protagonist in its mining past. In this itinerary, we will enjoy nature and incredible landscapes touring small towns and charming villages, vestiges where iron was once forged.
In this proposal we will have the opportunity to know Bilbao better, its old town and most representative corners; in addition to enjoying a unique experience in a Gastronomic Society or “txoko”. We will also have time to visit the international Guggenheim Museum.
Special stop will be the Bridge of Biscay, or Hanging Bridge, the largest representative of the industrial era of the Basque Country and declared a cultural heritage of UNESCO in 2006.
