Grand Tour of Spain’s Greenways

Two weeks by bike for 10 wonderful Greenways, selected for their variety and charm, following old recovered railways for cycling tourism. A different way (easy and safe routes, largely away from road traffic and with almost imperceptible unevenness) to travel a special country with an extraordinary landscape and culture.
Accommodation in exceptional places and visits (some even by bicycle) to such important cities as Barcelona, Girona, Pamplona, Hondarribia, Oviedo, Burgos, Segovia, Madrid, Plasencia, Mérida, Cordoba, Teruel and Valencia.
More than 400 km through valleys and mountains, impressive bridges and viaducts with more than a hundred years old, mysterious tunnels that once allowed the passage of trains and now await new adventurers.

ITINERARY:

Day 1, Friday: Reception in Barcelona Arrival in Barcelona on behalf of the traveler.
Accommodation in Barcelona.

Day 2, Saturday: Via Verde del Carrilet: Olot-Girona We start this day with a transfer to Olot, then pedal to Girona.
Overnight in Girona.

Day 3, Sunday: Via Verde del Carrilet: Girona-Sant Feliu de Guixols Ended the route, transfer to Pamplona.
Overnight in Pamplona.

Day 4, Monday: Via Verde del Plazaola: Irurzun-Andoain We start the day with a short transfer to Irurzún. After the route, transfer to Elgorriaga.
Overnight in Elgorriaga.

Day 5, Tuesday: Bidasoa Greenway: Elgorriaga-Hondarribia Route along Bidasoa’s Greenway.
Overnight in Hondarribia.

Day 6, Wednesday: Basque-Navarre Railway Greenway.
We start this day with a transfer to Estella, and then travel the Greenway of the Basque-Navarro Railway to Maeztu.
Overnight in Vitoria.

Day 7, Thursday: Santander Mediterranean Greenway We start the day with a transfer to Santelices and then we will travel the Santander-Mediterranean Greenway to Oña. After that, transfer to Burgos.
Overnight in Burgos.

Day 8, Friday: Vía Verde del Eresma We start the day with a transfer to Santa Ma La Real de Nueva, we pedal to Segovia to enjoy an excellent lunch. Transfer to Madrid.
Accommodation in Madrid.

Day 9, Saturday: Madrid Farewell of the travellers of the first week.
Reception of the second week travellers, arrival in Madrid on their own.
Accommodation in Madrid.

Day 10, Sunday: Vía Verde de la Plata: Béjar-Hervás We start the day with a transfer to Béjar, and then pedal to Hervás.
Accommodation in Hervás Day 11, Monday: Vía Verde de la Plata: Hervás-Plasencia We travel the Green Way from Hervás to Plasencia.
Overnight in Plasencia.

Day 12, Tuesday: Visit of Merida and Cordoba We start the day with a transfer to Merida, guided tour of the Roman city and lunch. Transfer to Cordoba in the afternoon.
Accommodation in Cordoba.

Day 13, Wednesday: Olive Oil Greenway: Lucena-Zuheros We start this day with a transfer to Lucena, and then continue to Zuheros by bicycle.
Overnight in Zuheros.

Day 14, Thursday: Olive Oil Greenway: Zuheros-Martos We cycle along Olive Oil Greenway to Martos. In the afternoon, transfer to Jaén.
Accommodation in Jaén.

Day 15, Friday: Greenway of Ojos Negros: Puebla de Valverde-Segorbe We start the day with a transfer to Teruel. Lunch and visit to the city.
We will cycle from La Puebla de Valverde to Segorbe.
Overnight in Segorbe.

Day 16, Saturday: Greenway of Ojos Negros: Segorbe-Valencia Bike ride from Segorbe to Valencia.
End of the bike tour on Malvarrosa beach, with paella.
Accommodation in Valencia.

Day 17, Sunday: Valencia After breakfast, end of the trip.
Travel to Barcelona or Madrid by high-speed train on behalf of the traveler.
