Discover Leitzaran!

The greenway of Leitzaran runs through the old train “txiki” that connected Donostia-San Sebastián with Iruña / Pamplona by the abrupt Atlantic valleys. This 68 km bike tour runs through tunnels, rivers and the Atlantic landscape in all its varieties: from the sub-Mediterranean varieties of the south to the more Atlantic varieties of the north. In addition, it allows to know the Basque cultural transitions that are reflected in the different euskalkis (Basque dialects) and architecture (farms, churches …) of the peoples through which the road passes. Likewise, the greenway begins in Sarasa and ends in Andoain, although it can also be done in the opposite direction. In addition, there are bicycle networks that connect these towns with the capitals, so the greenway is the main connection by bicycle between Donostia-San Sebastián and Iruña/Pamplona.

In the Otieta park we have bicycle rental to facilitate access to the Via Verde del Plazaola Natural Road. The route varies depending on the physical condition and motivation of the cyclists: some enter the valley a few kilometers to relax and bathe in the pools of the Leitzaan river, others pedal all morning to get to Leitza (located 22 km from the park) and return, and there are also those who prefer to make the greenway for several days stopping at Lekunberri and Irurtzun. In Otieta Park we have bicycles and equipment that adapt to all types of profiles, offering rental that suits the duration and material (sparrows, saddlebags, chairs for children, lanterns, helmets …) to the type of activity.
