Camino Natural Vía Verde Ruta de la Plata
Minimum of 1 person.
For all ages.
Enjoy this beautiful route on the old Plasencia-Astorga railway that crosses a lush and very diverse territory. It extends from Plasencia, capital of the Jerte through the region of the Ambroz valley and the livestock pastures, passing through meadows and deciduous forests until reaching the foothills of the Sierra de Béjar declared a Biosphere Reserve. And if this were not enough: old stations recovered with new tourist services, railway elements along the way, attractive villages and the proximity of the vestiges of the Roman road between Augusta Emerita (Merida) and Asturica Augusta (Astorga) – which gives its name to the “Vía de la Plata” – put the icing on an itinerary without waste.
Pedal, walk or just let yourself go… here the experience suits you: you can travel all the way or just do a stretch, with options for families, groups of friends or travellers looking for an active and quiet getaway.
