With a smooth route and away from the roads almost entirely, you will know the most virgin places of Leitzaran. Pedal through Atlantic forests, green hillsides and villages between mountains in one of the most beautiful areas of the Basque Country and Navarre in addition to being cataloged as a Natural Biotope.
The route runs almost completely through the Via Verde del Plazaola, first on a slight ascent and then on a gentle descent to Andoain. It is very pleasant to pedal without difficulty through its valleys, forests and villages in the middle of mountains and green valleys. There are also 41 tunnels that make the experience even more interesting.
3 stages and 3 nights Pamplona – San Sebastian + capital Donostiarra: Day 1: arrival at the first hotel the night before the first stage. Arrival in Pamplona Enjoy Pamplona, its streets, its castle and its gastronomy the day before you start pedaling. Here you will receive the bikes in case you have rented them. Today is a day to relax and prepare to travel the Plazaola Greenway by bicycle.
Day 2: Pamplona – Lekunberri 40km We will start pedaling towards the exit of the capital of Navarre. Under the watchful eye of Mount San Cristóbal, we will approach the beginning of the Greenway. We will travel its first kilometers ascending gently to the old train station of Lekunberri.
Day 3: Lekunberri – San Sebastian 65 km The second stage is fascinating. As soon as we start pedaling, leaving behind the old station, we will suddenly enter a beautiful landscape. Green hillsides, forests and valleys will accompany us until the end of the Greenway. In its more than 40 tunnels you have to shelter, and we will have to set foot on the mandatory detours to save the closed tunnels, but it will be worth it.
When we arrive in Andoain, we will pedal along rural roads and bicycle lanes to the capital Guipuzcoa.
Day 4: Circular in San Sebastian 30 km Today is to know the beautiful San Sebastian: its beaches, alleys and surrounding neighborhoods. It is also worth trying its gastronomy, the typical pintxos of the city…
