The region of Terra Alta, in inland Catalonia, is one of the most remembered places of the Spanish Civil War, as the Battle of the Ebro took place there. But it is also characterized by its agricultural tradition and in particular for its hazelnut trees, olive trees and vineyards. In the area, we can see beautiful modernist buildings converted into large wineries, such as the Gandesa cooperative, which was formed from the union of different wine families who decided to join forces to fight for a joint future after suffering the great effects of phylloxera.
