Greenway of the Sierra de la Demanda

The mining railway of the Sierra de la Demanda was built in the last years of the 19th century and barely came into operation until 1904. Perhaps its railway life has been short, but its roads are still traveled today, entering a territory of great natural wealth.

The Greenway of the Sierra de la Demanda runs through the heart of this area full of mountain landscapes and charming villages. Our itinerary will leave from the monumental city of Burgos to go back in time visiting the Archaeological Site of Atapuerca, declared a UNESCO cultural heritage.

We will live great moments in the sites of the Sima del Elefante, Galería and La Gran Dolina; and we will enjoy a great local gastronomy in the taverns of the city, at the end of the stage of the Camino de Santiago.
