DAY 1 - Madrid by foot

Upon your arrival in Madrid we will be waiting to accompany you to the hotel. Along the way, we will enjoy a brief tour of some places of interest such as the Royal Palace or the Basilica de la Macarena. Free time to rest and acclimatize. Free dinner with any suggestions that Cristina, our hostess in Madrid, will offer you.

DAY 2 - Madrid to Bilbao

We will fly from Madrid to Bilbao in the morning, the first stop of our route along the Cantabrian Coast. Our driver, Javier, will be waiting for you at the airport to accompany you to the hotel and leave your bags. In the afternoon, in the company of Isabel, we will walk through the old town until we reach the Town Hall square, where an authentic tapas route of the traditional taverns full of local atmosphere will begin. Some of them participate in the annual contest for the most unique cover. It will be a dinner that you will enjoy in the company of good friends.

DAY 3 - Bilbao to San Sebastián de la Concha Beach

Today we will know the province of Guipuzcoa, we will visit villages with a lot of tradition such as Eibar, Elgoibar or Azpeitia, where the San Ignacio de Loyola Sanctuary, from the 17th century, is located. We will continue to Getaria, impressive fishing village of Medieval aspect and territory where Txakoli wine is made, there we will taste some “zuritos”. We will eat in the same port, to continue to Donosti, where Ana awaits us to show us the best of the city. We will go up to Monte Igueldo and we will walk slowly through the Playa de la Concha, to visit the Basilica of Santa María and the historic center. Return to Bilbao and free dinner.

DAY 4 - Bilbao to Santander

After breakfast, our route will take us to Santander, but before arriving we will stop at some fishing villages such as Castro Urdiales or Santoña, where we will visit an anchovy factory that we can also taste with other gastronomic delicacies of the territory. We will eat in Noja, in one of its Casonas turned into a restaurant today, always facing the coast. There Mar awaits us to tell us about the stories of the town. In the afternoon arrives in Santander, Cristina will come to find us at the hotel to enjoy a short walk through the city center. The Plaza Cañadío or the street of the Pila River are places that we will love to show you while we tell you stories and legends of the Castle of San Salvador on Isla de la Magdalena.

DAY 5 - Route through the Valleys Pasiegos

Today it will be Mario who will accompany us through the impressive Pasiegos Valleys. A place with its own identity, where the authenticity of its people make it magical. Valleys where the Pas, Pisueña and Mieres rivers pass, until recently, they were not held together. We will live the traditional and authentic of Cantabria, always without additives, as is its gastronomy with the authentic mountain stew that we will taste in a tavern of traditional cuisine. In the afternoon we will park to Selaya, places of singular charm, where we will visit a sobaos workshop that you will learn to elaborate to surprise your friends.

DAY 6 - Santander to Asturias passing through Santillana de Mar

We leave Santander to go to Asturias with a mandatory stop in Santillana de Mar, where we can enter the Neocueva de Altamira, where we found remains of Homo Sapiens and paintings dating back 14,500 years, before eating we will have time to walk through the cobbled streets of Santillana de Mar. Comillas, with the unique Encano de Gaudí and its University, will be a good place to enjoy a good mountain stew in a local tavern before following our route.

DAY 7 - Oviedo and the art of Cider

It is impossible to resist a “culin” of fresh cider, and what better place than in a local-style tavern. In the morning we will approach a family winery where we will know its elaboration process. Javier will teach us to pour it out and the best way to taste it along with some good local cheeses and the tasty cider sausages. In the afternoon we will visit Oviedo, where Roberto awaits us to stroll through the less known and unique corners such as the “Carbayón”, the Old University, the sculptures of La Maternidad and the Asturcones and the Cathedral of San Salvador. Free dinner

DAY 8 - Asturias by the sea in Ribadeo

Today we will meet some of the fishing villages of Asturias. We will arrive first at Cudillero, a charming fishing village with narrow streets with the imposing Palacio de Selgas Palace and the Vindio Lighthouse, just one step away from entering Galicia. In Ribadeo, its old whaling industry stands out and one of the most impressive beaches in the country, that of As Catedrais, a mythical place full of stories and prepared to enter rocky caves between the sea. A stop where Alberto will allow us to enjoy gastronomy in the authentic local fishermen’s taverns, who will tell us about their experiences at sea. There will be many stories that you will know, and of which they will surely accompany you in your memory for a long time.

DAY 9 - A Coruña to reach Santiago de Compostela

Our route arrives at the meeting of Santiago de Compostela, a city that receives thousands of pilgrims every year with the objective of obtaining its precious Compostela. We will leave our bags in our Pousada, where Fabiana awaits us to tour the main streets and squares of the historic center, talk about architectural details, stories and Galician rituals. In the Plaza del Obradoiro, we will enter inside the Cathedral and its museum, which is already preparing the next Xacobeo Year. Free dinner

DAY 10 - Costa da Morte, “end of the world”

The Costa da Morte is an area of wild beauty. There we will visit villages of great charm, natural landscapes and Celtic sacred places. The marine environment of Muxía and its Shrine Our Lady of the Boat, until reaching the Finisterre Lighthouse, “End of the Earth”. We will get carried away by charming places in towns like Ézaro or Muros where Belén with his friends awaits us. Free food on the Costa route. In the afternoon, return to Santiago and free time to walk at your leisure.

DAY 11 - Rías Baixas

After breakfast we will go to Cambados, where we will share some of the time of the shellfish association and its seafood trawls. In Sanxenxo, a walk through Portonovo and its fishing port, will be a good proposal to enjoy its cuisine. The views over the estuary are incomparable. In the afternoon we will board the catamaran of Fernando, in O Grove, who will tell us about the cultivation of mussels in the trays while we taste a good Albariño. In the afternoon we will arrive at the town of Baiona, place of the first land sighting of Carabela la Pinta upon its return from America.

DAY 12 - Baiona, essence of Galicia

In the morning we will enjoy a relaxed walk along its seafront, with the marina and the round to the Castle of Monterreal as perfect places to enjoy the day. Pedro will have prepared a good tasting of traditional dishes and good Galician wines, in his Marineiro Recuncho. After lunch, we will attend the auction of the local fish market, where Teresa will explain the barnacle auction system that the women of the town capture among the nearby rocks of the sea. In the afternoon we will approach Vigo to visit the historic center and know the places where the well-known “Movida Madrileña” of the golden age of Spanish pop music was created.

DAY 13 - Vigo, last Galician sigh

Anabel awaits us at the A Pedra Market to try fresh oscas between street stalls. It will also be the starting point of our city tour. We will climb the slope of the Basketry to the Town Hall square arriving at the busy Mercado del Calvario, with a unique atmosphere of colorful food stalls, and meeting place of local people. Fernando will be there to offer us some tasting of local products and, of course, the market. Rest of the day off to enjoy the charms of Baiona and discover the corners of a villa full of culture and history.

DAY 14 - Madrid

Transfer to Vigo airport to take a flight to Madrid where our private driver awaits us to make all the necessary transfers.
